MARCO CHAVEZ JR. & JIMMIE LOPEZ
Jimmie arrived in San Francisco the day after Christmas Day in 2005. That following March, while his best friend, Jeremy, was visiting San Francisco, Jimmie and Marco came across each other for the first time during a night out at Bar on Castro (now QBar). While there was a definite connection, Marco was preparing for an extended trip to Asia. Due to the brief time they spent together and the two’s extensive travel schedules, it wasn’t until June that their paths crossed again at Badlands – affectionately, The Bad Place. It was after this second meeting that Jimmie and Marco began to get to know each other and quickly realized there was more than just a spark. A shared love for food and being silly, Marco’s warmth and authentic love of life reinvigorated Jimmie’s heart. Hours turned into days, days turned into nights, weeks, months, and, seven years later, Jimmie proposed on July 2, 2013.
Dear Jimmie & Marco – As you unite in marriage, remember that the rhythm of the music will change, but the music will always remain the same. For the music is the sound of your love for each other and together you’ll learn to dance to the changing rhythm that is life. Congratulations! xoxo
